So I am a teavana girl ALL the way!! I love the tea!!

I was never much of a fan of Davids tea until I tried the peachy tea and mango tea!! Oh my goodness!! It is so delicious and refreshing!!
It tastes so sweet with out sweetener and is good hot or cold!!

I am now a fan of davids tea!! Who would of thought it!

Now to go and drink copious amounts of tea to justify having so much!

:) cheers peeps!

whats your flavour right now?

We only have a David's tea here, and I am a big fan. Up until a few months ago that is... I know the majority of the staff there as I go there quite a bit. I don't even want to say how much money I have spent in there, but I can say enough to not have anymore room for tea in my kitchen. Not only do I own a butt load of tea, I also have 6 of their perfect tea mugs, two iced tea travel mugs, two hot tea travel mugs, and an iced tea steeper. At one point in time I was probably their favorite customer because I had no limit on what I would spend - they would show me a tea and if I liked the name, I would buy it.

Anyway, this summer they had a promo where if you had a David's tea iced travel mug you could buy $1 tea everyday. So perfect for me because they are right next door, and I have two mugs from last year's promo which was the same! So when I went in to get my tea (which was basically every morning, and sometimes in the afternoons) they refused to give me $1 tea because "my mug was from last year, not this year". Seriously? The girl told me I could buy another mug from this year, or spend $10 to get a sticker that would give me $1 tea. I get why they do that, but I already have two iced tea mugs so I don't need another, and with the amount of money I have spent in that store you would think they wouldn't care! Plus, I work in the mall, and go there almost DAILY. Needless to say, I have boycotted David's Tea for the time being...

I prefer David's Tea personally! I find that Teavana always has the same two flavors to sample (at least at the Red Deer one they do!) and their teas aren't very exciting :( Plus we don't have a David's Tea in RD! So whenever I get to go to Edmonton or Calgary I'm like "I NEED TO BUY SO MUCH TEA."
My favorite right now is Glitter & Gold tea from David's Tea, it tastes awesome and looks so beautiful in the cup! It literally glitters! :D

@Kaitlyn; Ouch. That is so dumb. The David's in Sunridge is amaaaaaazing. I'm on a first name basis with 3/4 of the staff there and am now getting free tea's on the daily. (which was nice the first couple times, but I'm starting to feel guilty. D= )

@Robyn Glitter & Gold is what got me hooked. Soooo good. /drool

How do you guys steep your loose tea?
I have a metal tea ball but I find that some teas are so fine, the leaves slip out of the holes and I'm drinking tea and tiny leaves :(

I love davids

I usually steep my tea in a mesh ball like you robyn. Or I have some of those baggies from davids too that work. Alot of my tea pots have a built in strainer tho

My favourite tea right now is either Snickerdoodle (new fall tea) or The Earl's Garden.

Get the tea bags next time you're in! So handy. And you get 100 for $10ish. I pack an extra one up and bring it in my lunch so I can have afternoon tea.

I didn't know Teavana had tea bags! I'll have to check them out! Our Teavana is in the other mall in RD though, so I barely go there >.< I'll have to go on a tea bag adventure.

Emergency 911 was the one I tried at David's Tea, I had it daily when I was so sick last xmas. It tasted so good too! I am to broke to buy expensive tea, I just have the Chamomile Nights by Stash from safeway.... best tea ever to me! I always like suggestions though!

bravissimo is fantastic if your throat is bugging you from davids

All their spring and summer iced teas were super good too

Right now they have this apple cider one. It tastes like apple juice tea. so good

Yesterday I went and got a bunch of tea from David's since everyone's input inspired me. Now I just need to find me a new teapot and kettle (as our kettle quit working 2 weeks ago and my teapot got broken a month ago. So excited to try the teas!!!!

I have an over abundance of tea pots I'll never not have one. I started collecting them when I was younger before I even liked tea. I don't have THAT many. Maybe like 12. But more than enough that i will always have a tea pot to use

Try the Oh Canada Rooibos at home with brown sugar and milk of choice. BEST KIND.
Fantasy Island. Blueberry Jam. Midsummer Night's Dream. Pumpkin Chai. Read My Lips.
I usually like when they do the winter ones and Oh Christmas tree or chocolate orange are on it... both are very similar. SOOO GOOD THOUGH.

I've only been to Teavana once and asked them to surprise me, and they surprised me alright! They made me one of the most expensive teas on the menu lol thanks Teavana...

I like David's tea more, I buy their teas when I'm sick (which is turning out to be quite often)
My favorite non-sick tea is Kenyan Tinderet. I love black tea with milk and sugar <3

How many do you have Riane? Apparently you need to love teapots to be at Southgate haha. I just picked up an adorable teapot with balloons on it last night and in the last week found so many cute ones so I can see how'd you end up with a few. My grandma collects small hand painted china teapots and I love her display cabinet full.

Forever Nuts?? (I'm pretty sure that's what it's called) from David's Tea is probably my favorite. I don't get over there as much as I used to since David's tea is in the other mall, but it's a must stop every time I'm there.

Has anyone tried those tea sodas or whatever? They look super cute, but I've heard such mixed reviews about them.

I've been going to David's tea a lot lately, I think they had a bit of a staff change so all the people who were rude earlier this year are gone - thank God!

All their new teas are amazing! I'm absolutely loving Bubbies Baklava, Apple Cobbler is AMAZING (I don't usually like apple drinks so it says a lot) and their Cocomint Cream (?) tastes way better than last years. I'm curious to try the Eggnog tea...

I'm with Kimm on this one! Not a fan of the nog at all!!!

I personally couldn't care where my tea is from as long as its a good full body tea. I just like tea plain and if I'm going to put anything in my tea it will be a very small amount of agave nectar.

Cocomint Cream and Sugar Plum Forest are amazing!!!! I was surprised that I love the cocomint cream one so much, since I don't like mint and especially creamy mint things, but it is subtle with spearmint. I may have gone and stayed in line for the David's Tea advent calender on November 1st before they opened. They gave everyone in line samples to drink while we waited, which was so cute. I can't wait to use those :)

I think you should be okay bringing that across customs. Do you have a loose leaf tea travel mug? I'd say bring that, then put days 2, 3 and 4, in a ziplock bag and put it in your carry on. They shouldn't hassle you over it. Might even be easier if the tea bags have labels on them?

When I went on vacation a few months ago I brought lots of snacks from home in my carry on, and they didn't even bat an eye at me! I just had everything in a giant ziplock.

They may take it!

Depends where you're going!

I was sending some tea to Australia and the lady I was sending it to send not to send loose leaf even though she loves it! Customs gets mad and takes it out of the package!

now that could of just been there!

But I have brought tea to the states before! I put it in teabags before hand... if they ask if I have anything I'm always SUPER honest!!

good luck!!

I would try it!

I would just say make sure it has labels on it and to state you have it with you. Any fruits/plants/etc will need to be mentioned, and usually long as it is in its original package with labels it is okay, but you could always try to contact customs ahead of time to ask. I know that the US/Canada border doesn't allow any citrus (especially the peels) to go over. And since you will drink them all there, you only need to know if they can go there and not worry about the return customs.

I adore tea in different interpretations and in a combination of different varieties. In the summer I use such a device www.bestadvisor.com/iced-tea-maker and cook wonderful drinks. I add pomegranate juice and ginger in tea or make it refreshingly mint.
A wonderful kitchen accessory, I highly recommend it.

I treated myself to $55 worth of my 3 favourite teas and one of those sample kind of boxes from david's on friday so I could have some form of a voice. Almost got some fancy looking cup with a tea steeper in it but I wasn't willing to drop $80+ on tea stuff. lol.

Cream of Earl Grey from davids is my favorite!! Mix with a little vanilla extract, sugar and frothed milk and you got yourself a london fog that costs way less than starbucks and tastes way better. I only buy very few teas from a grocery store, my tea/coffee cupboard is over flowing with Davids. Plus it helps that I have two jobs in the mall and frequent them often. We know eachother by name and they usually know my go tos before I even ask!!

Ive never heard of Teavana.

@Miranda Teavana doesn't exist anymore, I think it was closed down when Starbucks acquired it.

Cream of Earl Grey is my favorite from David's, too! I drink it straight 'cause I'm not one for super sweet tea. Their mint matcha is also 10/10, same with Cardamom French Toast. I have so much from there at this point that I can't keep track. (though it does give me options for when i bring iced tea to work) :)

My favorite is absolutely lemon poundcake, I think its seasonal but last time they were taking it off the shelves I bought 2 pounds. I never plan on running out ever again, a lil honey and a tsp of milk and you got the best feel-better tea ever!

I totally agree! Lemon pound cake was great! I should have bought some before they pulled it!
Ludwig have you tried Walnut Orange Scone? It's a white tea, and it was seasonal, but it moves so slowly you might find some left!

Cardamom French Toast is one of my absolute favourites!

There is an aqua coloured sample box I picked up and so far I've liked every tea I've tried out of that! There is one in there called cotton candy! and other coconut cream (pie?) one! OMG!!! SO GOOD!

@Ryleigh Well then see. I don't order from Starbucks anymore not since the awful tea incident so I honestly dont know. Theres a few more favorites of mine. Frozen Raspberry!! Buddahs Head

Did you guys know that when you take your old tins for a refill they are supposed to knock the price down on the tea!? I just found this out and I literally have dozens of cans if not more.

@Miranda I normally only go for Starbucks when I'm desperate at school, lol there's one in the building I'm usually in. They never make tea right imo. What happened with the tea at Starbucks though? Now I'm curious.

And sometimes if you're signed up to emails with David's they have more deals for free mugs and tins etc if you spend over a certain amount. I'll be honest I have way too many mugs from David's because of that.
Also they changed their frequent steeper thing so it's on a seasonal basis (I think) Points have to be used by a certain time now which is kind of a bummer.

I had gone in to ask for a London Fog , not only was it absolutely nasty and tasted like dirt. I am pretty sure the milk was rancid and they refused to remake and just being completely ignorant about it. Granted I dont work where I make teas or drinks but if someone is saying the milk may be rancid, its probably a good idea to check milk and remake it. I haven't gone back since and I refuse too. Our locations are nicely put together but the teams of employees leaves something to be desired.

Lemon poundcake is baack and permanent (for now at least) :^)))) I could honestly not be happier haha. I have to try Walnut Orange Scone, that sounds to die for! Thank god for this thread or else I would never be able to get rid of my 30+ tins, my mothers go to gift is a tin of tea and i have as much storage dedicated to tins as i do tea.
